"DAZZY" VANCE & CO. - Homosassa Springs, FL

Dazzy Vance & Co Lures were made in Homosassa Springs, FL. He had retired there after a successful baseball career. Arthur "Dazzy" Vance was a Hall of Fame Pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for Brooklyn from 1922 to 1932. His final productive year was with St. Louis in 1933. In 1935 he retired and moved to Homosassa Springs, FL. Vance was an avid fisherman and in 1937 went into business with Paul Manon to make fishing lures. The two best know lures of his are the No. 1000 Angle Frog, which looks like a Dalton Special, and the No. 2000 Darter. His other lure was a No. 3000 Seahopper. Dazzy Vance lures were made for only one year in 1937.
