Jim Pfeffer Banana Fishing Lures

Jim Pfeffer Fishing Lures

Jim Pfeffer - Orlando, FL

Jim Pfeffer made lures in Orlando, Florida from the 1930's up until the 1960's. The earliest ones have no cup-rigged hook hardware. Later, cup-rig hook hardware was used. Lures made in the 1930's and early 1940's were all painted by hand. Each of the little silver dots were put on by hand. Later, spray masks were used to apply the dots. The Florida Shiner is the most common Pfeffer lure and also the most ornate. Jim made a wide range of lures from fly rod size to Sail Fish Shiner and King Banana sizes. His hand-carved Sunfish is the most sought after Jim Pfeffer lure.

in the 1950's, Jim Pfeffer gave Pat Woodall permission to make Banana lures in Plastic. These lures were made in West Palm Beach, Florida and came in two sizes. After Jim Pfeffer died in 1970, Victor Densmore began making "Jim Pfeffer" wooden lures.
